I have an European made [I think] single shot .22 cal pistol that the Registration slip says the maker is 'unknown'.
The left side of the frame has a square symbol about 1/2" in size. The top half of the square shows the top half of a bulls eye target with about 7 or 8 rings. The bottom half of the square has a Block letter R on the left and block letter S on the right. It doesn't seem to be Roth Sauer or Robert Schuler! Any ideas?
Please Note: If I knew how to post pictures I would do that.
The barrel is marked Kal .22 L.F.B. so that may be a clue to some of you. Thanks for any assistance......G

Upload the picture from your computer to imgur.com then share the link to it with us.

You don't even have to do that anymore. You can upload to CGN directly from your hard drive provided the image size meets CGN criteria.

.22 LFB probably stands for "kal 22 lang fur buchsen", which, as I've learned in the last ten minutes, means .22LR. Not the best help though. PM me if you like me to post pics for you.

Very odd.. According to the RCMP records (FRT) this is what they state "this is one of three related "RS logos" that has been observed on two firearms to date.
- it is not known at this time what the logo/trademark stands for, or to whom it belongs, but one of the two exhibiting firearms has been traced to the Suhler Jagd-und Sportwaffen GmbH, post 1985".

Doesnt help, but shows what the know-alls know.

Looks similar to a pardini , particularly the grip. There are pardini bullseyes , a model of handgun available. Don't know about the RS though. Maybe an RS Bullseye ???? Maybe pardini copied an older German design and this gun is that/it.

Thanks for all the support so far guys. I have great respect for the expertise here on CGN and think that sooner or later someone will recognize something and solve the mystery. If there is one of them I'd bet money there are more of them somewhere.
I've always felt it was German or Austrian but not positive about that; my 3rd place bet would be Italian.
Cheers.

Thanks Sigrunes;
More research points towards Rhoner Sportwaffenfabrik [Whatever that means] in Oberelsback-Weisback, Germany. Possibly a model SM76 but still looking for info. Much of the info is in German and is 1 big puzzle to me. Anyone on for more research?

More info from the FRT. Again using the SM76 as the model it comes back with following.
- model is not marked on the firearm.
- this is a side lever opening, single shot target pistol.
- features include: raised front and adjustable rear sights; with or without a wood forend; ergonomic, adjustable pistol grip; blued finish.
- available in a host of configurations for various match applications.
- "RHONER SPORTWAFFEN WEISBACH" is marked on the side of the barrel of an observed example

Shown to be avbl in both 250mm and 200mm barrel lengths.
The only other RS shown are a small s/a RS11, a combination gun, a revolver and a single shot rifle. Not much, bit more than you had to start.
Cheers

Thanks Brutus: I also found that article on Target Talk. Looks like these pistols were imported in the 80's mainly for Silhouette shooting.
Would be nice to find a picture or two and to get a firm handle on the model number.
