R-23 Norma ?????????????????

I looked up Norma R-23 powder in an old Norma booklet.
It states it is a new powder, designed for the 357 and 44 Magnum revolvers and takes the place of R-2 and R-3 powder.
It further states that loading information is on the containers.

nothing written on container at all:(

Do you have the original container, plainly marked as Norma and with the designation, "R-23?

I have never seen the containers, and just stated what was in their booklet.
Since they say it replaced R-2 and R-3, I have the loading information for those, which I could post, and this powder is probably very close to them.
Later, I will have another look through my Norma material, may come up with the loadings for it.

I don't know if it is of interest, but anyhow I will tell you the story behind the R powders from Norma. All of them produced by Bofors.

R stands for Revolver powder.
In the beginning there was R1, R2 and R3.
R1 was intended for .38spec R2 for .357mag and R3 for .44mag.
After a while Norma removed R2 and R3 and made the R23 witch was to subistitute R2 and R3. Finaly they decided to remove R1 and combine all three of them to R123 witch is the powder that was produced last. In these days, there is no more handgun powder from Norma at all.
