To my knowledge I believe that RCMP is the CFO in question for Alberta as Sûrete du Quebec is the CFO for Quebec, but I think that they have a waiting time of minimum 45 days but it is like russian roulette, you never know if you are gonna win and get it ahead of time or get your brains shot out and wait forever.

Give it a about a week and then call them and find out what the holdup is but have you gone to the CFC website because you can check your application process easier there.

I got a direct number for the Alberta CFO...on hold right now

Edit: After being on hold for 45 minutes the lady gave me the name and ext. number of the guy that has my file at the CFO office and to give him a call later in the week to check the status. Probably the guy that's been on holidays the last 3 weeks with my file sitting on his desk....just my luck.

I would think that if a person went on vacation then the rest of the office would share in that persons paperwork because think if this would have happened in a courthouse and any important judicial paperwork hadn't been handled with the excuse that the person handling all the paperwork for a specific high profile court case was on vacation and they couldn't do anything until that clerk came back from his vacation which could be in a week or two, that would make the whole judicial system grind to a halt because the clerk who was supposed to handle the file was away.

Well stranger things have happened, I wish they had the same system as in Virginia, there the court clerk has 45 days to handle the issuing of a concealed carry permit and after that time they have to give a permit unless it has been declined for whatever reason, it might light a fire under the butt of the CFC and the various CFO's in Canada.
