Here are some helpful hints for breaking in the R22 rifles.

On the rifles, shoot around 100-200 rounds through them then clean the bore out, especialy the muzzle and chamber. This will realy bring your accuracy in. Also the bolt and recoil spring rod will start to smooth out at this point.

On the magazines. These rifles were designed to work best with the Bulter Creek Hotlips magazines. These are the best we have tested but they do need a break in period. Here is how we do it. Load them up with around 10 rounds or so, shoot about 100-200 rounds this way. Then I load them all lthe way up and leave them that way overnight. Next I go shooting again and start with 10 rounds, then 15 rounds then 20 and finially 25 rounds. These magazines will easily last 7000 rounds or more. Just be carefuly with the rear lug.

on ammo, they do not like Winchesters for the most part. They do like Remingtons and the good Federal. Most Subsonics will not work but the Remingtons should and the Agulia SSS will be a hit or miss, most likely you will need to wait for the rifle to break in. For top accuacy try Wolf target, Federal Gold target, or the Eley stuff. We have not tried them all yet.

Also, if you have any loose screws there are supposed to be lock washers on the screws holding th ehandgaud, scope rail in place. And finially, if you have any problems with the ejection, IE cases getting jammed between the cocking handle and receiver, try a bit hotter ammo. If that does not work we can ship you a new ejector. Those are made with a water jet machine and very in dimension a bit.

FWIW, I test drove 8 brand new Butler Creek steel lips mags in your gun yesterday. Not one magazine related problem. Some ammo issues with the types you've already said are shakey.

About the only thing I could find "wrong" is they don't always like to lock in with 25 rounds, but 24 work perfect.

Rhineland1 bother you with a question if you don't mind,

in another thread I asked this:

Message to anyone else with them:

The 4 hex/caps that hold the rail to the receiver. Are they all the same length on yours?

On mine, the front one was slightly longer than the other 3.. so much so though I think it is too long and actually not holding down the rail.. I think it's bottoming out in the hole before it even tightens.

I'd appreciate another owner to take a look if they take theirs apart..

Is one (the front one) supposed to be longer?

Rhineland 1,
Thanks for the tips.Am playing with mine today and working on the break in.
Shot it indoors yesterday at 25m and plan to get to 50 and 100 soon.
Question
1.is the barrel threaded the same as the 10/22 ruger's (interchangeable?)
2.Will the MP5 telecoping stock fit and work on these?
3.are 17m2 barrels available for them from you?
Thanks
