hey guys, been a while since ive posted here. ive been shooting a handful of times since may and msot of those have been to shoot trap, just been busy with work and life and i forgot how much i love shooting my r700. last couple times i had her out i was doing load development and wasnt having much luck. she was spraying them all over the place and the best group i shot at 100y was a good 1.5 inches. well i did my homework and did some case prep that i was slacking on, mainly deburring and chamfering the case. i just wasnt doing it enough and it must have been causing me some issues. so i loaded up a bunch of ammo based on the best powder load i had shot previously, made sure that the overall length was within 5 thou, didnt bother with checking runout, and just made sure i prepped the case better. and the end result was quite satisfying to me

thats at 100y and those are 1 inch squares. 5 shots in that one square. i sent a flyer out there as well which i knew was gonna hit wide, felt the flinch. the first three shots were the tightest and then i decided to send two more at the same target to see if i could keep the same level of precision and i did.

theres nothing special abotu the gun, remington 700 sps, 30-06, grizzly gun works brake, 4 ounce trigger, ebay bipod and cheap tasco scope thats getting me by. shot this off a rear bag and the bipod. barrel had about 10 rounds in it warming it up and had about 50 through it since the last cleaning, total round count is about 1200 through this gun, shooting sierra game king 180gr bullets with 52.5gr of hmr 4350 powder i believe. i usually get the powder numbers messed up but its something along those lines. gun seems to enjoy this mixture and this is the tightest 180gr group ive shot with it. thought id share as i havent posted in a while. next time out ill stretch her out to 200y and see what she can group there.

no problem and thanks. i figured id share it in case someone else with my setup was trying to find a load that worked well, i know i probably tried 10-15 different powder weights and three different bullets before finding one that worked well for me
