This group is using reloads of Varget powder near max-charge from the Hornady manual, & Hornady 55 gr FMJ.

~1 MOA group. Target at 100 meters using a 3X scope (ELCAN SpecterOS 3.0). 10 rounds shot for this group, in sequence.

Don't have the pic but bulk American Eagle 55gr FMJ groups about 3X this, i.e. 3 MOA.

xcr hater gonna hate !

the htin with the xcr is as long as the barrel retaining bolts is correctly torque acuracy should be good , but them you got the ammo and the shooter ,

Nice shooting. The XCR hate is unfounded, and seemingly perpetuated by people who don't even own one.

As per usual accuracy is due to several factors, the weakest link almost always being the human pulling the trigger. Great shooting either way!

Looks close to 1 MOA, but w/o a micrometer or some reference to measure against I'd call that group about 1.25 to 1.5 MOA. Still excellent shooting for a ten round group, especially using an old XCR.:nest:

Please post up a pic. with an exact measurement and prove me wrong. I also think you should give the Trinimon MOA challenge a try, might be the only XCR to succeed IIRC.:ang3

Cheers D

The xcr accuracy is hit or miss because of the fitment of the barrel extension to receiver.
The half baked pinch bolt that retains the barrel doesn't work well. It's basically doing double duty as the recoil lug, and not very well.
Some xcr's are more accurate than others due to a tighter fit between the barrel extension and receiver. Cerakoting the barrel extension helps tighten things up.
I have a theory that the reason the 7.62x39 xcr's seem to be more accurate than their 223 and 308 variants is that the tapered cartridge shoves the barrel forward into a more consistent position with every chambering.

I might get called an xcr hater, but I have owned a few of them...and they all had wear marks from the barrels shifting inside the receiver (retention bolt tightened to the factory recommended 250 inch pounds).

where are the rest of them?? One group really doesn't mean lot.

I could see this statement if it was a three shot group or even a five, but ten shots clustered like that I would say it's safe to claim that combo works really well. Never mind the 3X Elcan...I'd put money on it that group would shrink at least a little with a 10X + scope.

Yep it is difficult to be absolutely confident you're holding it on the bullseye with only 3X scope at 100 meters. All the same, it's not like I took an extremely long time for every shot...just some good squinting for about 5 seconds (max) between shots. Shooting off of a rest though with front and rear support, requiring re-centering and tweaking with the shoulder contact/front grip to get it back on center (which can be done in ~< 5 seconds, i.e., re-centering with bodily physical adjustment, not adjustment of the rest itself).

What is the "Trinimon MOA challenge"?
