Hey guys, went thru the stickies but couldnt find my answer, I changed the basic grip that comes with it to a Magpul MOE. I still have the spring detent in the MOE grip but once I put it back on the rifle the saftey has ALOT of play side to side.

What am I doing wrong with putting the detent spring back in place????

Thx guys !!!!!!!!!

Ok, quick update. Had everything going smoothly, grip was in and tightened and then the saftey started to bind up on something. Took the grip off and pull out the spring to see that it has bent beyond any fixing. Now I need a new spring and still have no fvcking clue hot to tighten up the slop in the safety.

FVCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Bfiles,
Its the similar set-up as how the AR safety works with that spring. Its possible something else like a pin also goes in there with the spring?
I think you may have lost a piece upon removing the original.
Its been awhile for me but look for an exploded parts view in PDF format in the XCR forums...

Beside the spring there should be another tiny little rod that goes between the spring and the safety, there is good chance you might have dropped that when you first took it apart.

strange, my XCR works fine with the MOE+ and the MOE K. Maybe something is in the hole for the spring in the grip. Maybe the spring didnt go in straight....

x2 assuming it's anything like an AR (which I'm pretty sure it is), there should be detent above the spring.

Make sure your detent is in there and installed correctly. Also, if you bent the spring and put a kink in it just install the kinked end in the pistol grip and your GTG.

It could be I lost it for sure, but when I took the grip off it was on a white sheet and I didnt see anything. Ill have a better look and see, but when I pulled the original grip off the only thing left in it was the spring.
I didnt see any detent.

Alrighty gents, I did indeed find the little detent pin and flipped the bent spring and it works perfect again. Thanks for all the help guys. Was alittle pissed off earlier today but it is all good now.

Thanks again guys!!!!!!!!!!!

Mods- this thread can be erased or locked or whatever now. Its all back to normal for me.
