Anyone try it ???

I tried the one called "blaze" and it smells real good, and seems to be getting some attention from the few deer in the area.

I have had one up for about 2 years. Refilled the container last summer. I have not put up a trail cam on it so I can't be sure how much activity it gets. My guess, based on what the area looks like when I look around is that it may get some attention but it is definately not a hot spot in what is a fairly highly populated area in terms of deer. What appealed to me was that it was Canadian made and formulated for Canadian deer. I guess for me the jury is still out I probably haven't paid enough attention to it to know exact what it is doing for the deer and for my potential hunting success. I might move it and put a camera up and see what happens. Good luck.

I did some reading, and it seems that many people say that you should try it on an old dead tree because the deer will eat the barks and wood right off the tree. I sacrificed a tree that was alive, but there was a fallen tree that was rotten and easily torn apart close by, so last week I purchased a bag of the mineral, used my boots to kick off the rounded top of the fallen tree and then poured the mineral on top. Since it was raining when I did it, I am sure the old rotting log soaked it right in. I repositioned my camera to hopefully catch both salt licks, so I will have more info on this product when I go back in a few weeks.

It works. The ground around the tree where I put it out had no vegetation 6 feet around from animal activity. Salt blocks in/on top a tree stump also work, they chew on the stump even when the salt is gone.

I bought 2 bags of the mineral one of each kind and tilled it into the ground then dumped a few buckets of water on it.... WOW they have turned it into a mighty fine wallow in the matter of a week or two.

I had the bucket on a tree last year but a bear ripped it off..... the deer are still eating the tree a year after the mineral stopped running down it!

I love this stuff! I have had three mineral stations on my property for over a year now and the deer use them a lot. I don't consider these hunting locations though, more of a management tool, the mineral is more like a vitamin for the deer providing much needed minerals and vitamins at critical times of the year. When I do camera surveys over the mineral stations I find the deer will come to these sites about once every 3-4 days when not pressured, and because my sites are in natural travel corridors and well protected in cover, I get activity at any time of the day.

Helped a buddy re freshen three mineral sites just a few days ago, two were previously rackstacker and the other was I think he said quakerboy, the rackstaker sites were tore up big time and you could see were they were eating parts of the stump right off. The quakerboy site was touched very little and even had some of the product left on the stump. No question what I would be using. Now is the time to get it out there to help those deer recover from the long winter and get those racks some good minerals.

From what my buddy told me, the red one is for does and the blue one is for bucks, now don't quote me on this it is just what he told me. We put a combination of both of them out at all three sites.

Well I checked my cam yesterday, and the deer have been hitting it pretty well every second day for the last month. I can see teeth marks in the bark where they are eating it, and roots are now exposed two feet all around the tree. They seem to be hitting the tree with the bucket in it much more than the old rotten tree's laying on the ground that I put the mineral salt on.

What's interesting is I have at least three maybe four different bucks coming to the mineral fountain as well, which is something I never have had before on my cams. Usually all I ever get on cam is does. Coincidence or just maybe this year there are more bucks, I do not know, but I am very impressed with this product so far.
