I haven't try any grease with moly because I am not a big fans of those kind of threatment, but because when I bought my CZ as my first 9mm, I use super lub grease and found the slide rack much easier after a lot of cycling.

I just started using mil-comm and cant say enough good things about it. i use to use oil but found it would stick in cold temps, and run out of the pistol if left to sit for a while in the safe.

Maybe because grease works better on sliding surfaces than oil?

OP, I use lithium based automotive grease from CT. A tub is only a few $$$ and it will last a lifetime of gun use.

I switched from oil to grease because it stays where you put it and does not dry out or leak.

Have you tried adding just a bit of salt & pepper?

Yes I do to my food all the time, tastes a bit better. You don't think that grease that's designed to work at high pressures, low and high temperatures won't work in pistols? I'd like to know why.
 
I really like Slide Glide (lite) and a small tub will last a couple of years. I started by just using oil but after reading about grease and trying it I'm convinced that it really helps preserve the finish on the rails especially on Sigs.
 
If you shoot outdoors in the winter - don't use a grease. I have tried a few, and even though they say good to -100F, in my experience they "gum" or "stiffen" up enough to cause problems with the action(FTE, SP, etc.). I have always had the best luck with plain old hoppes oil.
 
I really liked Weapon Shield grease on the slide of my Shadow, it does stay put much longer than oil. Then I had a match after my gun was in the trunk of my car for over an hour in cold weather. The gun jammed twice on the 1st stage. That's why I no longer use grease. I just re-oil the slide after about 200 or so rounds.
 
+1 from slide glide. A bit expensive but it last very long and you don't need much!

Lubriplate 130A and red ball bearing grease (Very cheap) also very interesting product.
 
Gun oil seemed to need frequent re-application - particularly on the slide. Bought some "Ultra Slick" (now there's a catchy name!) synthetic grease at Can Tire....and it seems to work fine with the slide staying lubed much longer.
 
:evil:Wow! Cat snot........vagisil?........ How lucky was i to find such like minded individuals with a shared passion, and the ability to turn everyday products into life saving lubes!........ Been searching the clossets and comming up short on your suggested stuff, but have mountains of horse s$€tby the barn. Will try it out and do a range report...........really guys, thanks for the info,been shopping for frog lube and maybe a grafite grease?
