Hey All,

Purchased a side saddle for my Benelli M4 (Mesa 8 shot)

For those who dont know this version replaces the top rail on the shotgun.

I Installed it yesterday and noticed that my optic (Deltapoint) is canted a bit to the left. Is there an easy way to "shim" or correct this cant on something like this?

Or it is simply manufacturer defect and I need to return it?

Did you use a bore sighter? That's how scopes are properly installed. The rifle goes in a padded vise and the bore sighter is used to get the reticles vertical and centered.

Deltapoint is a micro red dot. (There is no rings on it either, direct mount to the pic rail) When I shoulder the shotgun using the front and rear sight as reference I can see that the whole red dot assembly is canted to the left side. When I had the original rail installed it sat perfect. SO, the rail is not sitting level on the top of the receiver.

Trying to attach a picture that shows the issue. Found on online, wrong gun, wrong dot, same idea..... hopefully shows what I am talking about.

Geez and I did a net search for that scope too. Anyway, I suspect that mount is too narrow(and too high), but try a brass shim. Crappy Tire, Lee Valley, et al sell sheets of brass for nor ridiculous prices. Cuts with regular tin snips.
Put a 6" level on the rail to make sure it's flat as well.

UPDATE:
Placed a level on the rear sight, Rail, Optic and front sight.

Drum roll. Front sight is what is canted. So when I shouldered using the front and rear as reference the optic appeared canted.... but it was not.

So, on to that part.
I also installed a new ext tube.... if the tube was made a little off kilter....could it be torquing the barrel a little bit?
