Looking to put a rail at 6oclock on the lower handguard, from all pictures I have seen, people seem to only install the 2'' rail under (unless I am mistaken)
I'd like to know if the 4'' can be installed there? I don't mind it protruding up front, just want to be sure it fits

thanks

Installing the 4" rail on the bottom of my NEA handguard was a no go for me. Where the front of the handguard interfaces with the rifle (handguard ferrule? not sure on name but I will refer to it as this) does not allow me to install the front bolt. The handguard ferrule hangs down below the front of the NEA handguard. As a result, the supplied bolt did not have sufficient threads to screw into the backing plate of the rail. I ran it for a while with only the one rear bolt in place, and it seemed to be solid, but just ended up mounting my AFG to a 2" segment instead.

My rifle is a 18.6" CSA in .223 however, so I imagine different rifles will have slightly different dimensions. Hope this helps, I can probably toss up a photo tomorrow if ya want.

The lower is designed to have a 2" rail installed on the underside. Some people have installed the 4" rail there, but it's intended to be installed on the side.

A 2" rail is large enough to install a light, vert grip or a AVG grip. The reason the handguard wasn't designed to offer more rail space to the rear is that the Eastern Block rock in mag will interfere with a grip placed farther back. And those that like a grip farther back then tend to grip these rifles by the magazine. We didn't want to manufacture rail space just for the sake of it.

2" segment will be enough, unless you are planning to put a bipod, afg, and flashlight all together under there, tehehe. Good luck.

I want to put a gear sector handstop (handstop towards me, not up front) and if I put a 2'' rail, half of my hand wont be level with the other half (call me sissy if you want). AFG and vertical grips are too bulky, especially on a gun that's already long, heavy and uses rocking long mags

^ The AFG works perfect on my CZ with "rocking mags", only vertical grips get in the way for me.
