Hey guys,

just wondering what my options are for putting a railed handguard on a VZ 58. I am looking for one that has rails on top, sides, and bottom. I know there are some on Zahal, I know BC Tactical makes one, and I saw one on Wolverine for $425.00 which is out of stock.

1. Why would the one on Wolverine be so much more expensive than any of the others.

2. what should I buy. I heard the BC tactical one is pressure fitted. Does that mean if I drop it hard the handguard is going to pop off. (ps, my question mark button is not working). Are the ones on Zahal screwed into place.

Any help and pictures would be appreciated. Thanks!

bc tactical ones have a pin to hold the bottom in and the pop out out pin off your stock gas tube cover is transferred to the bc tactical one. Takes a little filing and they fit snug as a bug and don't move at all.

So how do the ones that Zahal offers stack up. Someone give me a rundown here. thanks for the replies so far. If something is pressure fitted, how can I be sure it will stay put if it gets dropped hard. That makes me wonder.

I only saw one VZ 58 handguard on Wolverine and it was out of stock. And for some weird reason it cost $425. Not sure why. That is pretty crazy expensive if you ask me. Are ALL the handguards on Zahal made by fab defense. Because I do not want the polymer ones that only have a rail on the top and bottom. I want one that has rails top and bottom and both sides. It would be great if someone could list the benefits of the Zahal ones that are aluminum vs. the BC tactical one.

I have the Brügger & Thomet BT-21347 Handguard which I purchased from Wolverine Supplies a couple of years ago.

Expensive? Yes. Having said that, this is typical of a high-end Swiss Made product and it shows. No filing, sanding, dremelling at all. It just fit. Perfectly...

I also bought all of the handguards below but didn't like them nearly as much as the B&T model.

You could buy the NEA hand guard. It has a built in rail on the top. Then you could add a 4" section on each side and a 2" on the bottom. The extra rails will run you another $90. I got my NEA hand gaurd for $100, but I have seen them as high as $200
