A recent acquisition (Rem. pump 44-40) shoots nice tight groups at 75 yds.
The problem is they're almost a foot low with the rear sight elevated to the max.....is the solution a lower front sight ?:confused:
 
Lower front sight or heavier bullet will raise the impact. The factory sights may have been regulated for Black Powder loads.

You might try some other ammo if you can find it. Can make quite a difference, especially in cartridges like the 44-40.
