Some quick questions regarding Ramlines synthetic offering for the No.5Mk1.
How much "fitting" required?
Are they noticeably lighter than issued #5 furniture?
I am under the impression that these rifles are sensitive to bedding changes {shimming and pressure points on the action, barrel come to mind} will the Ramline stock degrade accuracy?

I have experience fitting and bedding modern bolt-action rifle stocks, but am pretty green when it comes to fiddling with the Enfields and it seems this is a crucial step to maximize accuracy.

I will not be "bubba'ing" an original, I need the synthetic furniture to guard against moisture and hopefully lighten the rifle up by a few ounces.
ATI stocks seem out of the question, from the searching I did it seems the quality may be sub-par.

In respect of fitting and the end result I've known people to speak as badly of RamLines as some do of ATIs. And I've heard other people report complete satisfaction with both. (My only personal experience is of an ATI that came to me second hand on a No.5 and it isn't straight.) That all suggests to me that quality control isn't all that we would wish for from either manufacturer, but most of the stocks are good enough. I think if you have experience fitting and bedding modern sporting rifles' stocks you should be able to get satisfactory results with one of these stocks on an Enfield, as long as you don't get a lemon stock.
