Random Pic from my Dad

About 25 yrs ago in a different country, I was a 15 year old visiting an uncle's farm with my Dad. Out of the blue my uncle hands me his Dan Wesson 357 Mag revolver with a box of these cci shot shells and he tells me to go out and have some fun. I'm all excited and head out to test the might of this awesome weapon ammo combo. At that age I had already cast bullets and reloaded 38 spcl/357 Mag rounds many times and fired them from my dad's Ruger Blackhawk. So I was well aware of the caliber's capabilities.

I shot at a crow and it just flew away seemingly unscathed. This was totally unexpected. I was expecting this new technological wonder to convert the Dan Wesson into a handheld, 6 inch barreled shotgun. So I aim very carefully to a pine cone hanging from a nearby tree expecting the thing to explode into tiny pieces. But no, it just swayed as if gently rocked by a breeze.

Now I'm puzzled. Could it be that I had overnight turned into a horrible shot and was just missing everything I pointed the barrel at? So I get close to this tropical plant that had very big, wide and delicate leaves. I shoot expecting to confirm that my point of aim is somewhat in the vicinity of the point of impact. With the firing of the round, the leaf just moves as if with the breeze. From that distance it doesn't even look like I hit it. Upon closer examination, I saw that the leaf had a bunch of neat tiny little holes all throughout.

These things are only for very close ranges. There's not very much they can do after a few short feet away. That was the one and only experience I've personally had with these shotshells. I haven't ever been tempted to actively look for them ever since.

Sounds like they are a completely useless round unless used against a toddler instead of a spanking haha
