Guys,

What are you using to haul all your F class gear around the range?

I'm thinking of building / modifying a pull cart or buggy of some sort to haul all my crap from the parking lot to the firing point. I have zero mechanical aptitude so I'm soliciting suggestions in the hopes of keeping the required tinkering to a minimum.

I know some of you have carts. I've seen photos of Inspector sitting in one at last year's CFRC.

What are the specs?
What did you start with?
What extra work did you do to the base cart?

Fold-it cart by Tipke. A little more than most want to spend but TR shooters usually end up with more crap than an F class shooter.

i understand a range cart if youre bringing half a dozen guns...
but for one or two?
isnt it more work to unload one of these things from your vehicle, unfold it, load it with your range bags and guns, and wheel it to the site than it would be to just pick up your gun and a range bag and carry it?

pfft... when the zombies come, you are all going to die. :D

I started with a collapsible deer cart from a hunting store, put a box on the bottom for rests etc. Rifle strapped to the upright.

Have since moved onto a foldit cart, works better but a bit expensive.

I used to think like that. Then I got a bit older, and shot more all day matches. I want a cooler with snacks and drinks, a change of clothes when we're in between weather patterns, a folding chair, sun screen, plus the gun, ammo, tools, and christ only knows how much else.

I shoot to have fun, and stupid as it sounds, going without something you need, or having it be an ordeal to schlep around doesn't make for a fun day.

You obviously don't shoot F-Class or TR. We spend all day on the range and move all our equipment from mound to mound... STarting at 300M and ending at 900 or 1000

Shooting mat
rifle
spare rifle
front bipod or rest
rear bag
spotting scope and stand
ammo
tool kit
cleaning rod
clip board
rain gear
sun screen
folding chair
water.

jesus, you guys need caddies.

My range bag contains, shooting glasses, scorebook, towel, shooting glove, spare handstop, allen wrenches, sights, bolt grease, iris wrenches, eagle eyes, sun shade for front sight. ammo, sweat shirt and rain gear and shooting hat and magnifying glass.
Add to the cart a rifle, shooting mat, shooting jacket, scope stand and spotting scope, a small cooler for drinks a small tarp to keep the rain out and a folding chair and you end up with a fold-it cart heeping over the top.
