Range day new stripper clips test

Hey guys
well drove over to rang this morning and wanted to test out my stripper clips I tapped off
not bad , instead of buying plastic tapco mags for $35ish I just tapped my stripper clips with a peice of bright colour grass trimmer cord and made a bunch into 5 round stripper clips, all went well and about $14 or so for 40 made mags
easy loading with the clips.
took the idea from civil advantage vids, great idea IMO
anyways my sks shot well to bad I didn't lol
just wanted to share.

I just cut mine in half, then you can pack a bandolier to the max when you head out. The way you went looks like to works well but I like to bring as much ammo as I can fit in a bandolier, which ends up being 220 rounds.
 
I have a few cut in half aswell but didn't bring them this time...I'll take a photo later of my stripper clips to show....
the cut ones are good but not much to grab on, still a work in progress
 
That the only pain with the cut ones, pulling the bottom sections out of the bandolier. Although ive gotten used to it now I think, I like the idea of the full length with some a tab to grab, looks like they work well if you're doing speed drills.
 
Im also curious to see pics of these. Do you just loop enough trimmer cord inside the clip to take up half the space so the 5rds aren't flopping around?

weed eater wire pushed down and tapped with electrical tape...
I hope this photo shows up ok.
the cut version I'm not too keen on as I painted one end to make it easier to identify what end to grab, also when your cutting in half you'll always get one of the two that the fifth round is almost falling out, still turning one stripper clip into two is a great idea
when I wen to the range yesterday I got to practice though without bandolier not having ten rounds on my clips made it easier as the other five would slide around on the clip
