Range finder in cold weather

Hi all.

Can I please have your opinion on which rangefinders you find work best in the extreme cold, or would you say that the individual device is not the worry, but rather the battery that can't cope in minus 20 or less. Any ideas? Tips? I've even thought of a nice insulated pouch for it.
I want peak performance out to coyote hunting ranges of 400 meters or more. Not for archery.
Any help appreciated. Gonna buy one in the next couple weeks.

I have an older Bushnell range finder and a new Nikon Prostaff 7i and I haven't had any problem at all with -20 or colder weather with either of them. Most of the range finders seem to use good Lithium batteries that handle the cold.

The couple range finders that Ive owned the problem at winter time wasnt the batteries, it was getting the laser to reflect back with all the snow around. Aint a problem out till about 700.
