Range finder recommendations

If money was no factor I’d grab one of those for sure. However, I think the 4000 with suit my needs and I paid 1/4 the price.

It’s a solid unit. I’ve ranged buildings at 3400m fairly easy. Steel plates at 1500 no problem. You’ll want to look into a tripod for longer stuff though. At the very least, you need to use a rest past 1k. I’m assuming that goes for all range finders though.

That was one of the important features that I was looking for: 1/4-20 threads so I could mount it to a tripod. I’ve seen some rangefinder like the Nikon 4K that need their own proprietary mouth and I wasn’t really into that. The Razor should mount right onto my tripod.

Finally got out to try the Razor today. No problem ranging 1MOA targets out to 600m. The 2’x2’ target at 1000m was no issue either however the smaller of the two 1000m targets (1’x1’ I think) wasn’t giving me a reading. I’m happy with the unit so far and tripod mount on the bottom was very handy.

Check out the newly launched Revic BR4 (Gunwerks). It's going to kick a lot of RF butt... and no Kestrel needed. I'm getting some next week and price is pretty good too....

This is one thing that pisses me off about the Sig range finders.

Need to buy a separate $100 sig adapter just to put it on your tripod. Ridiculous

I wouldn't.

Only lists reflective range as 4k yards. Great, anything else?

It's like they are intentionally obfuscating the performance of the range finder. Wait till someone tests these, I wouldn't buy it just based on principal of false advertising by omission.

I have the Vortex Fury HD 5000 binoculars and am very impressed with its ranging capabilities so far. I haven’t used it a lot yet, but It will range dirt hills out to 1500 yards, deer out to 2000. We have a 1 moa steel target at 1000 yards that I can range reliably just standing free-hand.

I’m not blown away with the optical quality. For $1500 I was expecting a little better image. I’d say it’s on par with my $400 12 year old Leupold Acadia binos.

Wow, you keep trashing the Revic every chance you get....?? Maybe use one for a bit, and you'll see how nice they actually are.
