Do all gun ranges have (or need) a designated restricted firearm "area"? Im looking at joining a small town gun club (it is a Fish and Game club), they have a general shooting range, nothing really only for restricted firearms.

Is this a issue or can I join and bring my restricted and have fun? Talking to one of the members, he said its not a issue, but, better safe then sorry.

Talk to the range and find out the rules. A lot of them have them posted on their website too. If I were you I would just pop in one day and have a chat with an RO or someone.

There should be a range inspection certificate on the wall indicating what can be discharged on the range (at least there is at ONT ranges)

Ex:
Centerfire pistol
Rimfire pistol & rifle...

6. No person may use a restricted firearm or prohibited handgun at a shooting range unless the person is
(a) a member or an officer of an approved shooting club;
(b) a guest of a person referred to in paragraph (a); or
(c) an individual who ordinarily resides outside of Canada who is either a member of a recognized shooting organization or a guest described in paragraph (b).

Not every shooting range, and not every shooting club is "approved" (by the CFO).
