Two rifles were both 10-22's. One, stainless, new green mountain 16' fluted barrel, bushnell rimfire scope and boyd blazer stock. Second, basically factory except for volquartsen mods to trigger assy. Pistol was a 1911 Gold cup fitted with a Marvel 22lr conversion kit. Ammo used, winchester x-pert 22, PMC Scoremaster, and Federal Gold Cup. Weather, overcast, 0C.
Accuracy with the Federal ammo was very good. However, too many failures to fire and misfeeds. Rarely did I get all 10 to fire.
Sometimes 2 out of ten. In all firearms tested. PMC Scoremaster, first box, same thing. Not happy at all. Second box seemed to work pretty well and accuracy was good. But ran out of time and didnt complete it for testing. Winchester x-pert 22's were almost flawless but not as accurate. Pattern about doubled in size.
Im really disappointed with the Federal ammo. It may have been accurate but going boom is very important. I would say it went boom about 60% of the time. The PMC ammo first box was not very realiable but the second was much better. The x-pert 22 was reliable 98% of the time. Maybe I got a bad batch of federal ammo. Personally, Ill give it another try, purchased somewhere else and hopefully newer batch. I will not buy anymore from that supplier again. Ill try giving all firearms a good cleaning and try it again sometime soon. When its warmer and I dont have to walk through 4 feet of soft snow.
