Alrighty, I haven't got my M4 yet so I'll post those results when she gets into my grubbly little hands!

I gave each one of the rifles a honest kick at the cat. I'm not going to get into accuracy results, just obvious details, and reliability. Each rifle had about250 rounds through the pipe using the following ammunition. After being taken down and cleaned.
30 yellow jacket
30 rem subsonic
30 federal "wal-mart" blue box
30 federal "old wal-mart white box"
30 CCI mini mag
30 american eagle
30 federal gameshok 38 grain
30 federal gameshock 40 grain
Each rifle was single shot, and then rapid shot in 15 rnd intervals

Remington 597 VTR
Pros: Non-restricted; somewhat tacticool; handguard/grips/stock easily replaced to a more tacticool fun-gun, quite affordable $500-$600 range
Cons: Crappy looking handguard, easily cracked 30 round mags, poorly balanced, pain in the hole to clean...unless you like/use boresnakes...

I have to be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this rifle after watching a couple clips on u-tube. I was pleasently surprized! It fed like a dream, ejected like a dream, and was alot of fun to shoot.
-I had a total of 13 fail to fire. 100% of these has a nice clean crisp hit on the rim, so I chalked it up to ammo related problems.
-I had 11 fail to feed problems. Once I got home I noticed that one of my 30 round mags was splitting. I know that I lost count loading the mags, and more than once I tried to get the 31st round in the mag... I think nearly all of the fail to feed problems were mag related, however the stock 10 round mag was flawless.
-I had 8 fail to eject problems. All of these were under "rapid-fire", and 80% of them using the same ammunition (Subsonics)
-best ammo feeding, shooting, and ejecting: Walmart blue box Federal 525 round packs. All of the federal ammunition preformed quite well actually...
-worst ammo feeding, shooting, and ejecting: Remington Subsonic & Remington Yellowjacket was a close second.

Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22
Pros: Hella cool, great mags, lightweight, no tools required to take down the rifle for cleaning, very tacticool right outta the box.
Cons: Restricted Outside of the bolt, trigger and barrel there isnt much metal. The stock tube and handguard are some sort of polymer, maybe you wont consider this a "Con". Stock tube is non-removable.

I loved this gun as soon as I opened the box. Its nice and light, easy on the eyes, and lived up to my expectations. The mag is FAR superior to the Remington, as far as loading it up, but the downfall is its only 25 rnds...
-I had 4 fail to fires. Again, just like the Remington, I chalked it up to crappy ammo...
-I had 6 fail to feed problems. I found that if I took my time to load up the mags, and not just pull down the spring and shovel them in there, the problem went away.
-I had 2 fail to eject problems. I'm not too sure what was going on here. I'm no gunsmith, but 2 outta 250 ain't bad!
- best ammo feeding, shooting, and ejecting: Its a 5 way tie! CCI, all of the federal worked 100% of the time
-worst ammo feeding, shooting, and ejecting: The Yellow jackets and the Subsonics were at the bottom of the pile again. They had all of the fail to fires between them, and both the fail to ejects.

Again I'll post the M4 results as soon as I get it, and take it to the range!
