Got out to the range today and seem like I found a good load. Even though I was covered in aphids, still shot a nice grouping :D

Next up was the Accumark .340 shooting Wby factory 225gr. Bottom shot was my fault. She is a tackdriver for sure. Reloads are going to be next....

Two of my most favourite ever cartridges!

I have a P-14 based custom in 338 win mag that I was considering re-chambering to 340 (or perhaps 338-378 :D :D)

The mag box in a p14 is too short for a 340. So the action will require some opening, and a larger mag box. Not too complex a job, esp. since it already needs fine tuning to feed 338WM's anyway.

Good point Prosper, I've had pretty good luck with the mag boxes that Numrich sells (in a 375 Wby and a 450 Ackley). I have another here that is being used in a 475 Ackley. I also have a P17 that will end up a 300 H&H, plus a Rem 30 Express in -06 that i haven't decided what to do with yet. I still need a couple of good stocks though. Oh well, so many projects, so little time.

I have some more load data for the 340, I'll have to check my load book at home for it though. - dan
