Range report - 500 metres with an Alberta Tactical Rifle AR-15 upper

You don't live in Alberta if you don't have a cracked windshield:cool:

True, true!~ But hey we have all the room, mountains and no PST! :D

to the OP:

Funny how you managed to run into an actual cattle drive lol. No cows up here just huge trees and mountains. Alberta Tactical makes awesome stuff, very impressed with their items and their co operation as well, good stuff!!

Nice video!

Well when you have to drive over a gravel road for 30 minutes to and from the range, you get chips.

Thanks man. If you are ever in Calgary drop me a line. I'll take you out.

Nice shooting! For an interesting experiment take off you bipod and shoot it using a 30/5 rd mag rested on the ground. If your fore end isn't free floated you will see 8-12 inches of elevation change at 100m. Service rifle competitors shoot with no bipod out to 500m regularly!

I tried my STAG C7 clone with/without the bipod and I had 8 inches POI change at 100 meters.

Freefloat it if you plan to shoot both ways. But yours is already free float so no worries.

Nice video. Great upper too! Thanks for sharing.

Cheers.

It's free floated, but I may try it out to see what the POI does.

Thanks man. The only problem with making a video like this is so much of your time is spent making sure you have the right shots, shooting almost comes second.

I feel pretty lucky that the wife likes to come out too. I swear she can shoot groups better than me most of the time.

Running into the same cattle drive to and from the range was a hoot too.

Great video, inspriring others to make their own no doubt!
Lucky to have such a nice 500m range in the hills. go west young man, go west.
