Hi all,
I got an almost-new magnum research baby eagle 9mm not too long ago; I've put about 350 rounds through it in practice and training, some winchester factory, some Wolf reloads. So far it's been pretty much perfect. The sights were not set correctly, the gun was shooting quite a bit high - I had to file off a bit of the rear sight (down to about 1/3 of a way into the white dots). Since that made the dots useless, I blackened them out (I don't use the dots anyway).
The three mags all work very well; despite being a bit tight on the 10th round they lock into the gun without any undue pressure needed. I love how the gun feels in my hands, and was it not for the Tanfoglio L which I recently got, I'd be sorely tempted to use the BE for IPSC.
Had no problems adjusting a CZ CR Speed holster to fit the BE, regular CR Speed Versa pouches hold the BE mags without any issues.
Of the ammo I've tried so far, the 124gr WinClean BEB seems to produce the best results - 10 out of 10 on an 8.5x11" paper at 50m, most/all of them in the centre. I'll be trying the 147gr next... The 115gr FMJ (non-WinClean) was NOT overly impressive at 50m, only getting about 50% of the shots on paper.
Overall, from what I've seen so far, it's a great Production gun; if you like the CZ style/shape/size of guns, this is an excellent alternative to the CZs. Plus, I think it looks just waaaay cooler and sleeker than the CZs.
