I recently purchased a Anschutz 1418 from Clay at Prophet River Firearms. The service from Clay was second to none and I would point any CGNer to Prophet Rivers Firearms without hesitation.

I mounted a Leupold 4.5-14 VX-3 on the rifle. It had an AO which is perfect for a .22 LR.

I hit the Shooting Edge today with a box full of Lapua Center-X rounds to try out the new gun.

After a few rounds to foul the bore I settled in to some real shooting. I initially tried a loose hold on the gun off the bench rest. This resulted in slightly eratic groups. When I took a tight grip and solid cheekweld the groups shrunk. Big time.

With the tight hold, I was able to put round after round into the same hole at 50 yards over and over again.

There was one exception. On this target (see the question marks):

All groups shot at 50 yards:

My first shot went exactly where I expected it. When I let off the second round, I felt it was a good shot but it ended up way low (as indicated my the question marks). I added a round to the mag and continued to fire a five round group which was very tight.

I am not sure why that one round went off so badly. It was the only flier of the day. I suspect it was shooter error.

Conclusion: I couldn't be happier with my first Annie.

Good shooting and a nice rig! Better hang onto that one.
I can't find the 1418 in the catologue. I thought the 1418 was a full stock M64 in 22lr?

With shooting like that just makes me sick to my stomach, as there won't ever be a chance in hell that I could ever shoot as good as that even with the same rifle.
But mighty nice shooting there partner;)

Yeah, my 10/22 has been collecting dust since I picked up my 1418. My desire for a SR-22 is all but extinguished.

This little rifle is incredible.

I was suprised she shot Center-X much better than ACT-X.
