I've been shooting my LMT for a few months now. Over 400 rounds without any problems. Just reliable fun.

The rifle:
=======
- LMT 14.5" upper
- LMT lower
- 2 stage trigger
- SOPMOD stock. (great cheek weld and nice for storing batteries)
- LMT full auto bolt carrier w/ enhanced bolt
- Knights Armament RAS
- Eotech 552
- Vickers tactical 2 point sling
- ARMS #40 L-P .50 MOA low profile precision flip up rear sight

I decided to try some of my reloads. I temporarily mounted my trusty 16x Super Sniper and hit the The Shooting Edge to test them.

The load:
========
Winchester brass
Federal 205 primers
25 grains of Hodgdon H335
52 grain Sierra Match Kings
2.250" OAL

5 shots at 50 yards:

The first shot out of the clean barrel was the lone flier up high. The next 4 shots made that nice little knot hole.

Was the flier due to human error, load error or because it was the first shot out of a clean barrel? You decide. Either way I am pretty happy. I friggin love this rifle. :evil:

I'm not sure what type of shooting you do but try moving your vert grip right to the the front of your rail. I used to run my vert grip right up by the mag llike yours and was told to try it further out front. I gave it a try and it points like a hot damn. Give it a try.

Agreed - needs to be further out.. like mine!

... but what you REALLY need is an ACOG mounted on that sucker... :D

I dunno... I think the forearm is in a good spot as is... I've tried both; farther out the rifle is lighter and quicker, but closer in it's much more steady & comfortable. Nice AR.

Thank you for the review, I am in the market for an AR15 with a 14,5 inches barrell, can you tell me what the cost of your set up without the eotech 552, It is a real nice set up you get there by the way
Thank you

I have had both and have found (truth be told) that everyone's barrels be they Bushy, RRA etc etc. all out shoot the Colt's (Kevin and I have discussed this at length over the years). However I am more interested in the amount of destructive testing Colt does and am not as concerned over a couple of MOA from a bench...to specifically answer your question, my SOCOM barrel was no different than the standard M4 barrel.

The SOCOM barrel simply has a larger profile under the handguards, designed for sustained fire with the M4A1.
