This is one of the few 22 LR firearms, that fed and shot these Mexican made 60 grain Aquilla rounds to any degree of dependability.
This is a standard blued, 22 LR Ruger semi-auto pistol, with a 5.5 inch heavy barrel and target adjustable sights.

A pistol I bought off a very good friend and fellow CGN: Silverback (master pistolero) , with an excellent reputation for tack driving accuracy.

Despite the misquitoes bearing ownership to the outdoor pistol range in Bonnyville, I got off a fast ten rounds before I had to flee the range yesterday evening.
At 15 yards a split group of five rounds, both groups had touching bullet holes and NO keyholing
(very common with this long for rimfire bullet design) and no FTF or jamming of ejected empties. :D :D :D

Report much like any other subsonis 22 LR round...very mild in other words.

Backed off to 25 yards, fire a too hurried 5 shot group, and two hand hold, resulting in a 2 inch group well centred on the target board.:)
If the bugs were not so bad, I believe a tighter group was very possible....

Had to retreat to the car and head home, after this last group!:canadaFlag:

Cheers........
PS My valueable source of these rounds has unfortuneately dried up!

Interesting, I didn't know Aquilla was producing such a round.

I did buy a crapload of "normal" Aquilla .22 LR back in the early 80's from a local CTC (a good price at that time) and the ammo was very reliable and shot well. I was too young to own a handgun at that time but they shot quite well out of my Cooey.

I kept a single 50 round box just for sentimental value.

For a country that has a notorious reputation for piss-poor quality products, the Aquilla ammo was very good grade. I think back then, they were owned by Remington. Not sure if this is still the case.
