Today was my first chance to give my BTVSS a serious test. Here's my report.

Conditions: 25 degrees and no perceptible wind.
Range: 100 yards
Ammunition: Lapua Standard
Rest: Adjustable front rest w/rear bag

I fired 15 shots to adjust the scope and warm up the barrel. I didn't measure these, but they grouped approximately 2 inches. I then fired 5 shots at each of nine targets with the following results:

1. 2.0" (one out of rings)
2. .75"
3. 1.25"
4. .75"
5. 1.25"
6. .65"
7. 1.25"
8. 1.45"
9. 1.85" (one out rings)

The gun is obviously capable of sub one inch groups at 100 yds. Whether the larger groups were caused by me, the ammunition or the gun I don't know yet. Next time I'll try some different ammunition and see if that makes a difference.

The trigger pull, which I measured at 2.5 lbs, is a little heavier than I'd like. However, I was getting used to it by the end of the session and I think I'd rather adapt my squeeze than mess around with the spring.

Overall, I'm moderately pleased with the results but hoping to improve the group size as I get used to the gun and test different ammo.

Very nice sir!!

You have a shooter there!

I have a MKIIFV and I am always impressed whenever I take it out!

Adjusting the trigger spring is very easy, if it is maxed out the way to get a little more out of it is to cut a coil or 2 out of the adjustment spring....... that will lighten the trigger pull considerably. If you cut out too much just screw the spring back out a ways and you are laughing!

Cheers!

And thus why I made sure to get the accutrigger version. Simply use the tool to adjust the trigger pull as light or as heavy as I want. :D
