On Monday I received my first 1911 per mail. Hi hi hi hi.... I'm exited. I have been looking for one of those for the last 4 month. I've been shooting NRA bullseye matches, but so far without the .45 competition. So I needed a .45 caliber gun.
In a perfect world I would have purchased a Sigsauer P220 X-six. But there is as always the money question. Therefore I was looking around for a 1911. Colt and Springfield's are hard to come by, and cost a bunch of money too. So I narrowed it down to Sigsauer. I didn't like the clumsy looking sights of the Sigsauer 1911 Target models. But I wanted something with adjustable sights. There was the STX and the TTT. The STX was too pimped out for me. And I didn't like the shiny machined top of the slide. Other manufacturers machine grooves on top of the slide to minimize glare, and Sig does the opposite. There was the TTT left. I found one at a online dealer for $1167 shipped to my door.
And here she is.The fit and finish on that gun is very good for that price range. It seem to be a well made gun. What needs to be snug is snug. Racking the slide gives me a fuzzy feeling. It is very smooth. The muzzle is tight in the bushing. The feed ramp is polished, and the transition in to the chamber has a nice radius. So far 100 %. In the advertisement it says the internal parts are match grade. The specs advertise the trigger pull as 5 lb. That was something i was wondering about. If there is match grade parts inside there shouldn't be a 5 lb trigger. I was right. The trigger pull is rough. It is 5 1/4 lb , and it creeps for about 0.04" before it releases the hammer. Not good! It needs to be worked on for sure. But on the other hand, if everything else is tight, the gun should still shoot. I did some dry firing with a folded piece of tissue stuffed in the slot behind the firing pin. With a bit of concentration, not to jerk the trigger, the gun did not rock at all when the hammer released.

Good enough for me to do some test firing. I loaded up 50 rounds. I used 200grain sw lead bullets from Cactus Plains, over a load of 4.0grains of 700-X with federal primers. I had 10 rounds of factory reloads left, I was shooting at my last competition, out of a fellow competitors MK IV Colt.
So last night to the range I went.
The range is 20 yards, 18.3 meter. I shoot one handed. The top left target is the sighter target. All the following targets, I pinned on top of this target. That's why there is only one big hole. The middle target on the left was shot using the factory reloads. They seemed to be a little hotter then mine. All the other target where shot with my reloads. I shot 10 rounds on each target.
Through the course of the 60 rounds, I adjusted the sight 4 clicks to the right. For whatever reason the holes stayed to the left. I don't yet know if the sight is faulty, or
if it was me with the rough trigger.
The gun functioned perfect.
I'm totally impressed with the accuracy of that gun. I have had a few flyers, but that was my fault every time. This particular gun shoots absolutely astonishing. I would say it is on par with my SIG 210 -6.
Once I get that trigger straighten out, I will have lots of fun shooting that gun.

Thanks for reading.
