Hey guys,
I've been trying to do a lot of reading up on rangefinder reviews (for hunting use) as well as reading forum posts here. Reviews for the SIGs were a mixed bag with lots of failures but seemed to be mostly in the US. Not sure how accurate that is so interested in hearing feedback from anyone here that owns one. Vortex had decent reviews. Not sure if the Ranger 1800 would be enough or if I should hold out and buy the HD4000. Looking for a rangefinder that will stand up to weather, lighting, etc. Mostly looking for real world reviews from guys who use them.
Thanks in advance.

Honestly go look through them!!!

I had a lot of pre judgement and was convinced I was going with RF Binos and I walked out with the Razer 4000HD cause of glass clarity and my eyes are digital sensitive(Astigmatism) and the binos were unreadable and the ranger 1800 was too busy...

I was not a fan of the SIG’s and frankly with electronics I will take vortex’s warrenty all day long.

I'm very happy with my Nikon Black 4k. I've had it for coming up on a year now, using it for rimfire PRS so far and this year it should see some CF PRS work.

If your intended use is for hunting, my general rule is whatever is the max distance you will be shooting (between you and backstop) have a rangefinder that does @ least double that. Both the options you listed will be beyond capable for most hunting scenarios. As far as durability goes, it's a vortex so it will last and if for some reason it doesn't - warranty is in effect.

I recently went through the same thing and did a ton of research. Hands down Leica is #1 across the board with offerings from sig and the Vortex 4000 seeming to be in second. I read a few where the Vortex quit working in the cold, a few where sig seemed to not work for no reason. I think it's up to what features and glass you like. I found a used sig 2200MR so went that route

I`ve used the hell out of a Leica 1200 over the years. Super impressed with it and it has been flawless. Wouldn`t even bother looking at anything else if I ever need another one which I`m pretty sure will never happen.

I think have to take into account if your going to be using this in winter time too. I find that some range finders dont work that great when theres snow on the ground .
