I think I need a rangefinder. I have seen them in the store, and on the TV.What are the things to look for? Not relly worried about the cost but don't want to pay $1200 if a $400 one works as well. Max use would be 6-700 yd. coyotes and maybe a mule deer. I am leaning towards a Leica 1200.Thanks, Mark

I have an older bushnell and I use it a lot!:) The reason I have it is because my hunting buddy got a Leica 1200 and I got his old Bushnell. His Leica is pretty darn nice. It's small, mine's huge:(, the optics are excellent. It's the top of the line, I would consider a Leica 900 just to save a few bucks. Have a look at the leupolds too, but if price is not a problem buy the leica.:D

Mark,

I have had the Leica 1200 for three years, after using a well-known different brand. Without question, it is by far superior, especially ranging on actual animals.

I have also ranged inanimate objects to more than 1400 yards. Quite amazing!

I have a Leica LRF 1200 Scan and it is awesome.

I have the same one and am more the happy with it.

I have ranged Speed limit signs at 1049 meters at night.

The Leica rangerfinders have the narrowest laser beam and the quickest response time.

I prefer the LRF 1200 over the CRF (Compact)1200 because the LRF can be set for meters OR yards. The CRF has to be ordered in either meter or yards............plus I like the shape of the older LRF better.I find it easier to hold........

Cameraland has the older LRF for $429.00 new.Shipping to B.C. was $20.00. Taxes brought added another $57.00.So mine cost me just under $500.00 landed at my door.

SKBY.
