Noob question:redface:
Do rangefinding binoculars like Bushnell's Quest function as well as a regular set of binoculars, or is something "lost" when the range finding technology is added?

Binos are OK for performance but the whole unit is huge and most people change their mind about buying them once they have them in their hands. We only sold a couple and sent the rest back to Bushnell. The Leupold version is a little less bulky...$999 on sale for $675 (one left).

The Leica version, is a fantastic product although a little pricy. I believe they are called Geovids come 8 or 10 x42 and retail for around $2499.00. The range finder is very good and the binocular that houses it are tremendous.FS

The Leupold model you mention, is that the Wind River RB800 8x32 set? I've been eyeballing these as the deal is pretty good but haven't heard anything firsthand about them and am hesitant to drop $700.00 without some reviews. How do they perform? RangeFinder-wise, are they comparable to say the Leica 900 or 1200 scan?

Thx,
ILBR:)

The Leupolds are then Wind River 8x32 without compass (now sold out as these discontonued without the internal compass). Performance was OK about middle of the road for a rangefinder and the same for Bino's. These are a little bulky but OK for average requirements. The lazer is not near as good as the Leica's but you also pay a lot morefor these. Other than the Geovids from Leica I personally would not buy a combo unit as I feel there are too many compromises in size and overall performance. I still use a high quality Bio and rangefinder as two separate units.
