Many of us would love to hear a range report! Specifically reliability with different bullet shapes.

Please call in sick tomorrow and go to the range. I will write you a note if you need one, even though I'm not a doctor.:D

LOL
I have a whole bunch of ammo that i will be trying out.
147 grn sxt hollow points
147 grn winchester winclean BEB
147 winchester TCMC
115 grn winchester winclean
115 grn winchester fmj
I am also exspecting some 147 grn fmj from BDX

I will get a range report as soon as possible.

They are both 9mm
A new Trojan will run over $1300.00 after taxes and shipping.
I got the Trojan from Gunnar at Armco and the Ranger from Freedom Ventures.

The Ranger is a beeeeauty!

Im all about the commander-length 1911s now.. I can't even look at a standard 5 incher any more, they look like long-slides haha.

Ill probably get a Ranger one of these days to go along with the Dan Wesson. I shot a Ranger II in .45 and the lack of recoil was quite impressive... I imagine the 9 will shoot like a .22

One thing about the Ranger II

It will not fit a form fitted holster for a Commander. The Ranger II has a Government length dust cover. You either have to use a 'loose' fabric holster, or a holster for a Government model. I did check with Comp-Tac and they can custom mold one for it.

Let us know how she runs...

Did Gunnar pre-tune the Trojan?

How did she run for you?
Yes Gunar pre tuned the Trojan before he sent it off to me.The slide was a little stiff at first but after a couple hundred rnds it runs fine.Seemed it didnt like the 124 grn winchester winclean but now its fine.

I got a chance to get out today and try out my new Ranger in 9mm.
Heres how it went.
115 grn fmj winchester 25 shots-First 2 mags would not hold open slide on last shot third mag did.Cycled all 25 with no problems.
115 grn BEB winchester winclean 25 shots-all three mag would not hold open slide on last shot.Cycled all 25 with no problems.
147 grn TCMC winchester 25 shots-all three mag held opened on last shot.Cycled all 25 with no problem.
147 grn BEB winclean 25 shots-All three mag held opened on last shot.Cycled all 25 with no problem.
147 grn winchester Ranger SXTs hollowpoints 25 shots-all mag held opened on last shot.
Now for some reason with the hollowpoint ammo if i put all nine rnds in the mag both the Trojan and the Ranger will not cycle the first rnd.It gets caught up just below the feed ramp.If I only load 7 rnds in the mag there is no problem and it feeds the rest without any problems.
Overall I am very pleased with this gun.I will have to adjust the sights as it consistantly shot to the left with all ammo used.I was shooting at 20 meters.

Now that is interesting. Why did they do that?

PC9... wouldn't this look better with .45" holes? Of course it would!!
