Hey everyone! I just purchased my first rifle (sks) and would like to know what people think of the ranges in Halifax and which ones they prefer. I looked up the AMA and NSRA and they both have rather high membership fees so it pretty much comes down to which one is open most often. If anyone has any experiences with these ranges please share your opinions. Thank you very much!

You get what you pay for.....AMA has an indoor and outdoor range. (you get to use both with a membership). AMA is very active in IPSC matches. Great if you own a pistol.

For just throwing rounds downrange once in a blue moon, go the DNR route. Just remember, when you support local clubs, you support the firearms community. It is a great wat to meet people and get involved with different shooting sports. DNR does not kick back to the range, and does not generally support the shooting community.

The NSRA is $285 per year for the first 4 years then it is $85 per year after. You can go there by yourself and shoot. Some ranges require a second person to be with you. If you are just going out 4 or 5 times a year with one rifle the DNR range maybe what you want.
Have fun:)
