Rare Iver Johnson?

I have a old 12 gauge Iver Johnson with out a serial number and was wondering how old it was?It has "Champion"also on the top of the barrel plus it also has"PAT.APR.2'01APR.15'02 PATPENDE"

On the side of the reciever it says"Iver Johnson's Arms&Cycleworks Fitchburg Mass USA.On the bottom of the reciever there is a small Lever Thats when you push it down it lets you remove the pin that lets you take it apart.

Any info would be helpfull.How Old Cost to replace Ect..

i've got a similar one, when I looked it up on the inter web, it is basically the cheapest model they made around 1895, at least that is the info on mine.

My father in law who is 74 years old said his grandfather used it to shoot rats in the porch, yikes, would hate to see the floor boards on that old farm house LOL.

Do a google look, you should be able to find something.

It's a nice little gun, a friend of mine picked one up at an auction. Paid WAY more than $75 though! And man, that thing packs a wallop firing slugs.
 
Are you sure there is no serial number at all, either on the rear of the trigger guard or under the barrel. Is the original buttplate still on it. If so, what is on it. Also, do you mean the lever opens the barrel or does it have a top release behind the hammer. I can't tell if that is a top release in your pic or a shadow.Might be able to get a close date it was made if you can answer some of these questions. Right now I am guessing between 1902 and 1909 which would make it a black powder gun.
 
Early 20th century shotgun. Not particularly valuable. safe with modern 2 3/4 inch loads if not really loose in the action. I would stick with low brass loads and stay away from slugs. The gun will be shot loose in no time and the wood will be cracked at the tang as well.
