I've got a US&S M1911A1 and they're quite rare, mine unfortunately has been restored. I have an ad on the EE and no one seems interested, its been up a few times. I'm just wondering if im asking too much for it, what do you guys think. I really need the $$.

I saw it. It is absolutely beautiful. I know that US&S 1911A1's are rare. I am surprised that you aren't getting offers. I paid 475$ for a refinished commercial Colt Government model made in 1919 about 10 years ago but yours has a lot more value in it. I'm sure if you are patient you will sell it. Maybe not at the current price but the price someone will be willing to pay is purely subjective.

If it's not original finish, your price has to reflect that.
I haven't seen your ad, just saying in general...

Collectors will pay big bucks for original specimens....even then you won't get US prices in Canada. Being refinished turns the collectors off, so you will need to look at what the shooter crowd is willing to invest in it. I'd drop it to $1500 and see if you get any bites....

I recently sold a WW2 Rem/Rand for the princely sum of C$575.00 because most of the original parts including the barrel were replaced. Plus a new front sight was dovetailed into the slide. Not refinished. Little provenance left but a decent shooter.
Perhaps the light on the gun was poor as the new finish appears very dark. Unusually dark, however if the gun is all original, ie., barrel, bushing, controls, you still have a nice shooter....the re-finish is the price ruiner.
My opinion, you should attract offers in the C$750.00 range to upwards of C$900.00.
