I got my new-to-me Rasheed a few days ago, and now I have some time and want to clean it. I've never taken one apart before though, any tips? My biggest concern is removing the bolt/top cover... I could fiddle with it but I don't feel like launching the recoil spring across the room.

Any suggestions are appreciated :) I'll post pics once she's cleaned up.

It's easy:
Take the magazine out and #### the action.
Push the carrier cover about one inch forward, put the safety wing in the middle position (in line with the rifle's axis) and wiggle/lift it up.
Let the carrier cover come back under control then pull it rearward and out of its rails. Usually, the recoil spring comes along with it.
Invert the rifle and slide the carrier/bolt assembly out.
Rest of the job is easy; just don't forget to unfold the bayonet before attempting to remove the stock...;)

I found a mag on e-bay. It was a real hassle as the guy would not ship to Canada. Had to get it disassembled, shipped to a friend in the states and then shipped here. Was about $80 by the time I finished, but turned a club into a functioning rifle again!
