Hi,

I was looking to replace the forend on my Mossy 835 that split apart several years ago on a duck hunt. My problem is that when I look up the part at Numrich, I get the options of a "Rat-Tailed," Checkered and Ribbed forends.

Does anybody know what a rat-tailed forend is? I'd like to get the one closest to my original, which had checkering on the base and looked a bit like a typical 870 or BPS forend. I already know that I do not want the ribbed version.

Thanks in advance!

Frank

You mean ring-tailed?

Corn cob?

A lot of the older pump shotguns had a cylindrical forend with rings cut in for a grip.

The later ones had broader forend grips.
