Rate the Mossberg 535 ATS

I have a Mossy 535 combo/wood. Bought it to replace my two year old Rem870 Supermag..

What a difference, Mossy feels lighter due to (I believe) an aluminum reciever- cycles smooth, double extractors and shoulders very fast. Too early to say how she'll be in the field- but after my nightmare "express" which jammed from new I think we have a winner.
This action lifts the new shell and aligns with the chamber rather than try to tip it diagonally and jam (that word again) like the Rem.
Downside? Cheesy plastic top tang safety.
$340 with 28" barrel and 3 chokes, AND 24" rifled slug barrel fitted with williams rifle sights I'm well pleased this far.

What do you like best, Ford or GM?...

I bought the wood slug/smoothbore barrel combo last fall. I haven't put a lot of ammo through it but I have never had a jam. Slugs went through well on the range (whitetail run real fast!)

It was the "Star" of the deer camp, where 3 of 4 were using shotguns. The boys like the idea of the combo. They especially like the price.

My only complaint is the wear mark on the pump slide. It seems to have appeared a little quickly.
