RATON,NEW MEXICO 2013-US NATS & World's Championships

congrats to all the shooters that represented canada so well at raton, in both competitions. out of curiosity, what is involved in being eligible/selected for shooting on the canadian team?
i know the u.s. changed their format this year where shooters had to qualify for a spot on their team. lee

Lee,

The intent going forward is to create a roster of shooters interested in making up the National team, and develop a program to put the best possible team together as we move towards major international competitions like the Americas Match, and 2017 Worlds. There was a great deal of discussion down in Raton about the best way to evaluate shooters going in to 2017 to allow enough time for team practice, but also to ensure that the members of the team truly represent the best we have to offer at that time, and I think we are on the right track. I fully expect there will be more news coming out on this shortly, and would suggest that you want to stay tuned here or to the DCRA website for more information as it becomes available.

for anyone even remotely interested in this program, I encourage you to move ahead and participate.

If nothing else, you will learn more in a few training sessions as you might years on your own. You will be shooting with some of the best in the world who WANT to help you develop on both skills and gear.

Rarely is there a sport where Canada is not at some disadvantage. For LR F Class, Canada can rank with anyone on this planet.

I am not saying the selection process will be easy and it will be filled with a range of personal and monetary commitments, but you will be part of a World Class program that is only going to get better over the next few years.

The Worlds 2017 is our time to shine. We have the time, skills and now resource to compete on an even footing with any team in the world.

If you ever wanted to be part of an "Olympics", this may be for you.

Bug the guy in post #105.... he is on the inside track :)

7 of us call Homestead our home range, tho' the number could bump up a bit with the number of BC shooters we get on a regular basis - see you out there.

Just saw this thread. Thank you to all that represented Canada so well, and those that shot PGW products!

I also note that 'prairieguy' should change his name to 'hairyguy'......Do we need to sponsor you with some Lady Bics?

Aw, come on, If I shave how am I going to look like an uber cool F class "operator" . lol

No need for the lady bics unless you think I might want to use them on my wife. Most of the fur is gone now that I'm back in the land of the working. Besides, I'm only hairy from the neck up anyway :)
