Rattle in scope

I've got a used scope that has a small rattle in it when I shake it. Its a fixed power. Is it still useful ?

Are small rattles sometimes heard in scopes. I haven't shot under it yet so before I waste ammo I just thought I'd ask.

Well you'll just have to test it, with the elevation and windage knobs. And then focus knob to make sure it functions. If it does and clear and your reticle isn't broken, then I don't see a problem with using it
