Rattling With Real Antlers - Ontario Regulations

pretty sure only if the antlers are from out of province deer.......the thing I'm not sure about is, it now seems if you went on a hunt out west you can not bring your trophy back to Ontario now that pisses me off I wanted to do a Elk and Muley hunt but its pointless if I can't mount my trophies..

I agree that it seemsto be for out of province antlers from what I can read in the gov't announcements. The problem is how do you prove they are from Ontario? The ones I've collected don't have "made in Ontario" on them.

Are all the antlers on deer engraved with Made In The Stupid Province Of Ontario? You guys need a change of Govt or something. Seriously.

Read the new regs. There is a provision in them for bringing back antlers, provided they are properly prepaired. Capes also can be brought back for mounting, again, providing they are properly prepaired, and brought to a taxidermist within a specified time, IIRC.

cannot use anything from a deer. urine, horns, testis, what have you. has to be all synthetic now.

Its an attempt to stop the spread of CWD in Ontario deer, moose etc. Whether it could be spread by using scents with real urine or whatever is not proven, but they decided to ban it anyway. Funny thing, its still being sold at place like Canadian Tire beside a sign saying you are not allowed to use it for hunting. I can't quite visualize what else the stuff could be used for, but.......................?

ahhhh, thats the Ontario I remember and Fled during the first couple years of that twinky mcsquinty...;)

you are allowed to use it for taking photo's of animals.

so as an attractant to allow animals to leave after being "infected" it is perfectly fine, but if you use it to attract a deer to be shot its not allowed. go figure.
