So I finally got a chance to test out my Rauch Tactical refinished (Tennifered) CZ-858-2 and I took it out to the range ... in the pouring rain. FYI - we were not shooting from a covered firing point. My friends and I shot about 300 rounds of (corrosive, of course) Czech ammo.
Well, by the time I got home, I was pretty exhausted so I just wiped off the rifle and put it in the safe for the night. I have never done that with the stock non-chromed bore.
The next day, I cleaned it out using my regular corrosive ammo routine - boiling water, ammonia cleaner, Hoppes No. 9. The bore looks perfect as does the rest of the finish. I stripped down the gun and cleaned and oiled the whole thing. Great success!
I should also note that the rear peep sight that I bought from Rauch is equally fantastic. Target acquisition is smooth and effortless. Combine it with the factory muzzle break and follow up shots are fast and easy. At times, I felt like I was shooting with a red dot.
