RB 9/46 stamped on a long branch

Yes, Long Branch did that for a short time, and then stopped stamping them. I've only seen them stamped like this marked 1946.

Yup that's how mine looks. It looks a lot cleaner than my enfield SMLE with electro pencil FTR 53 on it lol

No ....it's a Long Branch factory re-barrel. Barrel date would be interesting...may not be " 46".

It's ReBuild '46. Mine has RB '46 with its original '42 barrel and wartime green paint.

Could they not have been painted during WWII as well? I suppose it would make sense for them to have been refinished during the ftr though so I suppose that is out. Mine definitely has telltale signs of Indian ownership!

Mine came from P&S' India shipment. But lacks the ishapore screw and is in amazing shape. I wonder they even used it.
