Just thought I'd share a few photos of a nice RC K98 I have if anyone is interested. This was a transitional year (1938) and the left side of the receiver has Weimar republic firing proofs and the right side has the Nazi eagle proofs. I dont know when this rifle was imported but nothing is peened. All original markings were left intact. There is however the typical russian "X" on the receiver. The action has no "paint" on it and the locking screws and cleaning rod came with it.

I actually haven't shot this rifle yet but I think Ill take it out to the range next week ;0) I mainly bought it because I thought the marking were interesting and intact.

I am just starting to get the K98 bug hahahahah. Eventually I'd like to snag an all matching numbers rifle. For now I'll enjoy my RC's.

My example is very early 1936 made JP Sauer rifle with her Weimar style eagles. Tracing down some of the WaA inspector numbers gives a variety of parts from other rifles from 1939 to 1942. On top of that, she has an old Century arms USA import stamp on the barrel and probably came up here shortly thereafter.

Considering when she was made, where she has likely been in service, and how she got her, that is quite the mileage. Like yours, I wish mine could share her stories.
