RCBS #37 shell holder problem

Has anyone else have a problem getting their 338 Lapua brass to fit in to the #37 shell holder? They only get half way in and the shell holder is marked #37.

I know I've had some issues with shell holders and determining the correct one and fit. They list two for the .338 Lapua - 14/37. From their website:

IMPORTANT: RCBS Shell Holder numbers do not correspond to those of other manufacturers. When two Shell Holder are listed, the most popular is shown first. It may be necessary to use the alternate, depending on the manufacturer and/or lot of cases being used.

ETA: I'll state the obvious, take the shell holder and some brass with you for testing purposes.

I had the same problem. A #37 didn't fit until I modded it while I waited for the #14.

Problem solved.

The #37 is used with brass made from the .416 Rigby.

The package doesn't mean Lapua brass. There lies the rub.

I dremmeled out a slight bit on mine and it worked great. It doesnt need much taken out. Took about a minute to do.

RePete you are right on the money. I bought the #14 and it works great with the Lapua brass. The #37 works with Hornady brass.

I believe that the 14 is for 45-70 but fits the 416 Rigby perfectly as well. I have both at home (load for both cartridges) but have never tried 338 Lapua brass in either.
