I'm still on the fence between the two. For the price difference, would a Hornady + Gempro250 make sense?

The Hornady on the normal speed don't overchage much (reviews) and I have my RCBS powder trickler. I could set it up -0.1 grain of target and trickle on the Gempro?

Even if I bought the RCBS, I would still buy the Gempro, I think.....I like to double check everything (OCD or habit of my trade, I guess).

But 800$+ for the two....dang!

What do you guys think?

I'm very happy with my Hornady auto-charge; it's worked flawlessly for my various pistol caliber loads up to this point and yes, on normal speed setting, I've have very very few overcharges with a number of differing powders. It works as advertised, cleans up easy, and has been as accurate as I need for pistol loads (I double check before each load session with a test load + mechanical scale to address my own OCD complex lol).

When I was shopping I read that the chargemaster was the most reliable in terms of not konking our and needing to be returned or go back for warranty - so I spent the extra $$

I have the Hornady and regret my purchase. Consistently overcharges. Slow. I have to set it for a half grain under and then trickle up. I am going to be buying the RCBS. My buddy has one and it is very consistent and fast.

Some have modded it with a straw when using stick powder to improve accuracy it seems to work

There's a dude on eBay that machine a nice little do-dad that is like the straw, but more eloquent.

The Chargemaster can be programmed to speed up as well.

I haven't compared mine to my GemPro yet, but I will.

Yup I got one and it's very nicely done and I dare say looks better than the straw.

I have the hornady and am actually on my second one. First one was used for about 400 rifle rounds and it suddenly started to shut itself off and not throw powder, sounding as if it was seized. Sent to hornady on my dime and received a brand new one 2 weeks later. 200 rounds later this one is starting to do the same. It literally sits on my bench, doesn't get moved, covered when not in use. I got it simply due to the price and it was local to me, but now I have ordered a gempro250 to go with it. For the trouble it gives me, I will just throw charges with my measure and trickle up to my target. I would just go with the RCBS if I was to do it again.....which it appears I will.

How much in Canadian coin now?

I think the company is Cambridge Environmental or something like that where I got the scale. FX120i. No idea on current pricing.

the add on is US so whatever the dollar does.

I might just set up my Redding BR-30 powder measure again... this got me pretty close and would only need a quick trickle. Do I really need another add on?????

But it sure looks slick.

Thats a nice little machine,That unit seems to be quite accurate.

If you mean the FX120i scale, it is a great piece of kit. I can reliably load to 0.2gr accuracy or +/- 1 kernel of powder.

Some are using the Gempros... also did but they drift and will wear out.... so I got tired after working through a couple and made the investment in the FX120i.

Glad I did...

I've got the Chargemaster and the Gempro 250. The Gempro drifts always and makes me crazy. If it wasn't a gift from my awesome wife, I'd have used it as a target by now. I talked with the folks at Gempro and didn't gain any ground there.
I really like the Chargemaster. The Gempro only gets used to check what the Dillon is throwing and maybe weigh the odd bullet. There's a RCBS 505 on the bench but it has a pretty good layer of dust on it --- can't remember when I last used it.
I'd hate to be without my Chargemaster combo.

That's exactly how I use it but still keep the 505 running to do an overall when readings seem funny
