RCBS Chargemaster combo.

What I want to know is why they are being sold in the US for $289 and midway had a sale last month at $279 and here they are $450-$520 can you say price gouging.

$279usd=$334cdn+tax+shipping=$411.34 Canadian dealers should have no problem selling for $425shipped tax in.

I am suposed to run a business and loose money?:kickInTheNuts:
279.00 USD

=

352.188 CAD

+ tax shipping and duty

Now to get it to you I have to charge tax and shipping again I should forget about all of this... and I should make some money in there too so how do you figure this that I should be able to sell it for $425 inclusive

Lebarons has them for 469 that is old stock... I have the same product for 450 which is cheaper I am sure Lebarons charges proper taxes and importers there products correctly.

I am also not lebarons I am one man operation currently and I would say 450 is a pretty good price if you ask me for a guy that has 1-10th the purchaseing power and funds avaliable that lebarons has

i bought mine from natchez shooting sports last year, but can't remember the price then, but now its listed at 289.00 USD

FWIW, mary at international sales desk was great to deal with:)

X2 Absolutely. Great service and decent pricing. It was THE best priced comba to be found last year. Not certain on the pricing now though!

Last time I checked Midway USA won' t ship to Canadians. At least that's what the guy on the order desk told me the one time I did try to order from them.

Regards,

Why are you paying duties and taxes? If you are reselling the items you should not be paying anything more then shipping/brokerage and the exchange....you should not be paying tax till the items are sold to the end users.....I think you need to find a new distributor maybe contact RCBS directly. If the US dealers can put these on sale for $289 and have a regular price of $319 there is no way they should be any more then $400cdn+tax and shipping some one is making bank off this and its not you.

I just dont see how there can be such a huge price difference a Bushnell elite 3200 3-9x40mm can be had here for $219 and in the US they are the same price......but on this RCBS stuff there is more then a $200 difference in MSRP I find that hard to swallow.

Cost is Cost I get Cost pricing from Rockford Fosgate and my cost is the same as the dealers in the USA and funny my cost is also the same as the Canadian dealers we all pay the same cost but to bring it into Canada you have to factor in exchange and brokerage if the item is being resold if not then add tax.......some where along the line some one is marking up the cost on the RCBS and I bet it is the distributor that your buying off of.....if the US MSRP is $319 then the Canadian MSRP should be $419 not $519. I have been in retail for over 10yrs bringing in product from the US and have never seen that big of a difference in MSRP ever.

good example
Stevens 200 notice the US MSRP of $399.00
http://www.savagearms.com/st_200long.htm
Now notice the Canadian selling price
NON-RESTRICTED STEVENS 200 BOLT .308 WIN 22" BBL, BLUED FINISH, GREY SYNTHETIC STOCK WITH PILLAR BEDDING, NO SIGHTS $349

there is something out of wack

I have to pay GST when it enters the country and I recop the GST when its sold... sometimes CBSA goofs and charges me pst too then I have to claim it and wait a month to get a refund...

Find a new distributor there are only 2 major ones in Canada I deal with both of them... and some in the USA...

Do the distributors work for free? of course there is some markup on it.

If you think I am making "$200" off these your mistakin.

Never said you were making the $$$ but some where down the line an extra $100+ is being made off Canadian Customers vs what is being made selling them in the USA.....when they are on sale for $289 I'm sure they are still making $30-40 putting the cost somewhere around $249 and that cost should be the same for a Canadian distributor as it is for the US ones so dealers here shouldn't be paying more then $320 from their suppliers .

Your really driving me to disclose my wholesale cost for the unit you just wont belive me unless you see the book...

So my advice is if you think you can do better then me by all means open a business get registered make the contacts and under cut my pricing.

We are just luckey that there are no import restrictions yet on reloading equiptment or you can expect the price to go way up on these items...

Want a lesson in importing talk to someone who is in business in austrailia they pay nearly 3 times the amount for same goods americans buy

I'm not saying its your fault because I know its not. I know you are paying way more then what you should be paying mater of fact all Canadian RCBS dealers are getting the shaft by the sounds of it. The Canadian MSRP is out of wack with the US pricing and that's the distributors trying to make more money.

There isnt much I can do about it... on things I can get cheaper or have permits for i get from the states otherwise I am stuck with canadian distributors...
