Was cleaning up my 22-250 die yesterday and noticed the expander ball above the decapping pin had a crack in it. Now the big question is does anyone know where I can find that RCBS part ? Thanks

RCBS is excellent. I have also had super service from some other reloading supply makers.

I called RCBS once to explain that I had just opened the box of a new press and that the Big handle was missing. before I could get any farther, she was asking me for my mailing address.

FWIW, I remove the expander button on decapper rods if I am loading boat tail ammo. The groups got tighter with the increased neck tension. Try it.

Yes, rcbs has won me over.

Now about removing the expander, I never thought of this before. Interesting, have you tried some side by side tests with expanded and not?

Not only did I try side by side test, but I had a down range video camera running on the target as I shot the groups. I then edited out most of the time between shots, so the groups formed quickly. I am blessed with my own 200 yard range, with a heated/air conditioned firing point for year round comfortable shooting. testing is easy.

Tight neck groups were about half the size - in 308Win. If bullets are not stuck into the rifling, the tight necks improve things.
